Following Reported Departure of National Security Advisor, Olszewski Reiterates Call for Hegseth Resignation
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Johnny Olszewski, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, today reiterated his call for the resignation of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth following the reported departure of White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. Congressman Olszewski has been calling for Secretary Hegseth's resignation since the Secretary, along with Waltz and other defense leaders, shared detailed military action on non-classified software in March.
“More than one month after top leadership officials in the Trump Administration lied about recklessly sharing classified information in a now-public Signal group chat, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz is finally departing the White House,” Congressman Olszewski said. “While this is a welcome step toward accountability, Secretary Hegseth also needs to go. He shared critical details about a pending military operation, put our troops in grave danger and then had the audacity to lie about it.
If he fails to resign, I am prepared to do whatever it takes to hold him accountable.”
