WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representatives Johnny Olszewski and Kweisi Mfume and U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks (all D-Md.) announced $1,127,448 in federal funding for community colleges in Baltimore City and Baltimore County to support low-income students, first-generation students, and students with disabilities as they pursue their degree.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Johnny Olszewski (MD-02) joined Representatives Sarah Elfreth (MD-03), Steny Hoyer (MD-05), Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), Glenn Ivey (MD-04), and April McClain Delaney (MD-06) in a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem on behalf of Maryland university international students who have been arrested or had their student visas revoked by the Trump Administration.

“As a former American government teacher and a first-generation college graduate, I know first-hand that education is the key to opportunity. This Executive Order strips our children of their basic right to opportunity.
