Olszewski Issues Statement After Reviewing Epstein Files
(Washington, DC) — Today, Maryland Congressman Johnny Olszewski issued the following statement after reviewing partially unredacted Department of Justice files connected to the child sex abuse investigation of Jeffrey Epstein and his associates:
“The survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s horrific crimes — and the American public — deserve complete transparency and accountability. Congress passed legislation to do that. All files should be public, searchable, and complete, with appropriate protections only for the personal information of survivors.'
Attorney General Pam Bondi and her boss, President Trump, are in violation of the law that he signed. Some of the documents I saw today remain heavily redacted, and even now raise more questions than they answer.
“What is the connection between Epstein and powerful individuals — including Presidents, a Supreme Court justice, members of Congress, and cabinet secretaries, who are collectively named tens of thousands of times? What is contained in the more than 3 million documents that remain sealed, even from lawmakers? The American people deserve to know.
I call on the DOJ and President Trump to comply with the law and uphold both the will of Congress and the fundamental rights of the survivors to the truth.”
