Olszewski Reaffirms Support for Israel Amid Targeted Attacks on Iran

(Washington, DC) – Maryland Congressman Johnny Olszewski, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, this morning issued the following statement on Israel’s targeted attacks on Iran:

“I reaffirm my support for the State of Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East, and its right to defend itself against threats to its security and its people. The recent Israeli strikes on Iranian targets must be understood in the context of ongoing provocations, regional instability, and the constant danger posed by Iran’s malign activities – such as its state-sponsorship of terrorism around the world.

As we continue to support Israel’s right to self-defense, we must also work to avoid a regional catastrophe and a larger conflict. Our top priority must be the safety and wellbeing of Americans in the region.

The United States’ commitment to Israel’s security goes hand-in-hand with our responsibility to pursue every possible avenue to prevent further bloodshed.”
