(Washington, DC) — In his first speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Johnny Olszewski (MD-02) today announced his support for a legislative suite aimed at lowering and offsetting costs for Americans and called out Republican leadership for refusing to allow votes on policies to help struggling families more than one month into the session.

Congressman Olszewski introduced a tracker he will post on his social media pages everyday until the House votes on a bill to lower costs.

“I believe in consistent and thoughtful leadership that lowers costs for American families. The Trump Administration’s blanket freeze on federal grants, loans and financial aid is a brazen – and seemingly illegal – attack on our democratic norms that will only make life harder for families already struggling with higher costs.

Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and all Committee Democrats in sending a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressing concerns over the Trump Administration’s recent actions that undermine the State Department’s mission, its workforce, and U.S. global leadership.

(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Johnny Olszewski is among nine new members of the Congressions Dads Caucus – a bicameral group united in the fight for family-friendly policies – his office announced today. The caucus is chaired by Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) and now includes 45 members, including Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries — and eight other new members in addition to Congressman Olszewski.
